On the planet of Buduki, a master of the Teräs Käsi fighting technique, Pon Law and prominent member of the Followers of Palawa was sent to meet a diplomat from Panatha. Pon was shocked and concerned when a Jedi Knight came off of the ship. Using the techniques of the Teräs Käsi he kept his mind blank and did his best to hide a very dark secret of his from her, afraid that she would reveal it to the other Followers of Palawa. He had what many others would call a 'gift' but to the Followers of Palawa (who developed the martial art of Teräs Käsi as a means to keep the Jedi in check, presumably so that another world would not be destroyed by the Jedi Council.) The fact that Pon himself was Force Sensitive was a life-altering fact. One he did not want to get out. Not to mention his concern on how the Followers would react to the presence of a Jedi. But from the moment, Zi Yi, who was an Epicanthix of Panatha herself smiled to him and greeted him, he could feel something happening, he was instantly enchanted, but not by any magical power, purely by her charisma and kind heart that shone in her eyes. Zi herself became quite taken with Pon as he often came to her defense and tried to help her open the Follower's eyes that the Jedi Order was nothing to fear any longer. But after many months of intolerance from everyone but Pon and a handful of others negotiations were at a standstill. Zi decided that it was time for her to go. She wasn't the only one that was feeling a connection between her and Pon. But those sort of feelings weren't the Jedi way.

When Pon told her to stay, there was an argument. An argument that Pon won when he told her, "The best way to convince a person to trust your way of life is to live their life their way and show the lengths you'll go to respect their culture and beliefs." When she was seriously considering his words he suddenly took her into his arms and kissed her. His training lulled in the embrace and when their lips touched she knew his secret. While she had already made a decision, that kiss only helped solidify it. She gave her resignation to the Jedi Order, giving them her reason that 'We are guardians of Peace and Justice. In order to carry out my mission. In order to live as a Jedi, I must no longer call myself a Jedi." The Council was sorry to lose her, but Master Yoda seemed to understand the strange wisdom in what she did. Zi lived among the Followers of Palawa slowly, very slowly they warmed to her and to the idea that perhaps the Jedi weren't so bad. Great unrest settled over the Followers when Pon and Zi married, the unrest turned into exile for the couple when Zi started to show that she was pregnant. The exile came in the disguise of the Followers wanting to sent Pon to Panatha to act as Zi had, as an ambassador for their order.

Seyge was born a few months later and had a very happy childhood on Panatha. Her mother was from a lesser noble family before she became a Jedi, so Seyge had access to all of the cultural beauty and benefits the Epicanthix had to offer. When she was four her 'Uncle Fen' first visited. Fen Dunassic was her mother Zi's one and only Padawan while she was a Jedi Knight. He was going through his last trial to become a Knight when Zi gave up the robes. Hearing that Zi and Pon had a baby girl Fen asked to be given leave to visit and test the 'baby'. Zi already knew that her daughter was Force Sensitive, and she had already started the girls training. Even at four with the mix of Jedi and Teräs Käsi upbringing she was a formidable foe. Fen relented when Zi resisted his offer to take her only child away. So Fen contacted the Council and after quite the amount of negotiations it was decided that Fen would stay and make sure that Seyge received the proper sort of training. As the Council was worried that such a prowess as Seyge displayed for combat if gone unsupervised by a member of the actual Order (No matter how much Zi continued to hold to the Jedi ways) would end very badly. So Seyge uniquely remained on her home planet, among her family and friends and underwent her Jedi Initiate (or 'Youngling' as her mother and Fen often called her.) Training. When she got old enough to start really asking 'Why?' at the age of seven going on eight, Seyge began to realize that she was getting special treatment. That she wasn't getting what her mother had to go through. The separation from family, the rigors that other Younglings go through that make them better able to focus on the Jedi way. It was then that she made the enlightened decision to leave Panatha and freely go with Fen so that she can go through the (in her mind at that point) 'real initiation'.

Seyge grew up differently than most Jedi younglings. So it should not be a surprise that love and compassion have shaped her path. Zi is only concerned that this path is one that can easily brush with the Dark Side. While she trusts her daughter not to fall to it, Zi can sense a darker presence in Seyge since they returned from Kamino.

Caiden Kor

Caiden Kor

Daughter's Ex

A clone who said he was in love with Seyge. I do not know if I can believe him even though his actions point to protecting her at all costs. There was hope that the reading material that Zi gave him would have enlightened him to the discipline it takes to fall in love. He is gone now, vengeance proved too strong a draw. Zi hopes for him still.
