Background

In the base of a coal-filled mountain is Smithyton, the seat of House Shermer. Smithyton has equipped the armies and navies of the Reach for decades. Jorlyn Shermer married Olex Hightower and is the mother of Marak and Otto Hightower. This marriage brought great opportunities and wealth to House Shermer and they now oversee and landlord several smithies in Oldtown.

Jessar Shermer was born in Oldtown in 85 A.C. as his branch of the Shermer family has lived in Oldtown since 61 when Lord Olex Hightower married Jorlyn Shermer. Jorlyn's little brother, one of the finer smiths the family has procreated came along with her. Olex put Jorlyn's brother, Dugger to the task of overseeing the armouries of the Watch and also House Hightower's Guard. Jessar is now the one responsible for the armouries. He is married to Elyn Bulwer and they have a growing family. Jessar is a very efficient man and has organized quite the thorough way of checking out weapons and armour and also getting them inspected and repaired if need be.
