Game of Thrones

Fed doesn't know what exactly happened before he was sent to pick up a midwife and a newborn up in King's Landing and drop them off in Dragonstone. But with his connections, not to mention his relationship with those that gave the orders, he's figured out enough. Enough to know that when the King re-married, the tides would shift and that kid would get sucked away in the undertoe if Fed didn't do something. So something he did! He took the boy and his foster father under his wing and gave them both better (and longer) lives! It might have put him on the outs with certain someones, but they were all dropping like flies from age or murderous princes. The wild goose chase the boy is on now is keeping him busy and on the move, which is exactly what Fed thinks is best, so he'll always have free passage on Fed's crew no matter what.

Thankfully Fed still got connections enough that his "business" is still afloat.

The truest love of his life, this speedy little vessel has seen Fedrick through years of plying his dangerous trade throughout the seas from Oldtown to Volantis.

Former Crew and Precious Cargo

Fedrick helped to look after Baelon back when he was simply known as Dorian. Of course, "looking after" him meant inviting him to join Fed's crew of smugglers. In Fedrick's eyes, he was teaching the lad important survival skills that he would surely need in the future.
