Background

The highest rank a smallfolk could get in Oldtown's Watch, Captain Edwin is about as crooked as a guardsman comes. Even in Oldtown his penchant for graft is impressive; he has devised all manner of new port fees, paperwork, and permits to line his pockets. These expenses are mostly charged to outsiders so as not to anger the local populace. Knowing a good thing when he sees it, Captain Edwin does work hard to keep the people of Oldtown safe and secure and is all too willing to use the pillory when appropriate. Thus far, this juggling act of corruption and justice has kept him on the Portmaster and the Lord Hightower's good side, but it is difficult to keep the balls in the air forever.
